After entering Advanced IAC competition in 1990 with a highly modified Pitts S-1, he also began performing at air shows in the early 90’s. Dick then broadened his experience by becoming a National and Chief Judge as well as the Event Coordinator and Board Chairman for the Faribault Airfest in Minnesota. Seeking to assist performers and air show events with sponsorship acquisition, Dick started the sponsorship consulting organization Blue Sky Aerosports Inc, an ICAS award-winning company. Blue Sky is now the marketing arm for the International Federation of Aerobatic Racing (IFAR). Dick is currently the Executive Director of IFAR, which manages and promotes the Aerobatic Racing Challenge Series (ARC Series™). Dick has used his business degree from the University of North Dakota and his Naval post-graduate education in Aviation Safety as a springboard for his involvement within the air show industry.
